Dr. Jennifer Karlin, assistant professor, industrial engineering, has been elected to the Engineering Research Methods (ERM) national board of directors for the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).

The ERM division of ASEE is lead by a board of directors with six elected members: chair, secretary/treasurer, and 4 directors. The directors are elected for two year terms.  The ERM division is committed to various aspects of the learning process, including

  • Research on learning
  • Research on methods of instruction
  • Dissemination of knowledge on teaching and learning
  • Development of procedures and materials for instruction

In addition to a full selection of programming and activities at the ASEE annual conference, ERM sponsors the Apprentice Faculty Grant (a program chaired by Karlin for the previous three years) and the National Effective Teaching Institute (NETI). ERM is also one of the three co-sponsors of the annual Frontiers In Education (FIE) conference. ERM is one of the largest and most active divisions within ASEE.
