Sandra Meier Receives Traditions of Excellence Award
The Career Service Council at the School of Mines has given its Traditions of Excellence Award for October 2007 to Sandra Meier. Meier is a program assistant in the Student Accounts/Cashiering Services Office, and has been employed at the School of Mines since 1994. The Career Service Council gives the award to someone who has performed their assigned duties at a high level or above and beyond expectations, who has taken the initiative to promote the concept of successful job completion and has promoted a positive working relationship with students, faculty and staff.
Meier's nomination stated, "While the Director of Financial Aid was out of town during registration Sandee went the extra mile. Sandee's own duties take up most of her day yet she found time to help answer questions from students and parents regarding student financial aid. She handled several difficult customers with decorum and composure. Sandee is an outstanding representative of the South Dakota School of Mines."
