The following students traveled to Pierre to participate in the Student Higher Education Days (SHED) at the South Dakota Legislature. During the trip, held February 2-3, students from across South Dakota lobbied the state legislature on behalf of higher education.

"These activities help students gain a better understanding of our state government," Marcus Bartlett, School of Mines Student Association president, said. "Students are also able to learn about what other state universities students are working on in their student governments as well as meet new people and make new friends."
