We'll give students the sun, the moon...and the stars, too! The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, located in Rapid City, is offering summer camps and classes that will cover space- and science-related topics for students of all ages.
Space Adventures! Camp will cover topics such as black holes, time travel, star mythology, satellites and much more. Participants will also build and launch their own model rocket. Field trips will include the Air & Space Museum and the Hidden Valley Observatory for stargazing through a computer-guided telescope. This co-ed residential camp is offered to middle school students, July 19-24, and high school students, July 26-31.
For students not yet ready for an overnight college experience, there is also a day class being offered called "A Walk through Space."
