The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology will host the 54th annual High Plains Regional Science and Engineering Fair Friday, March 20, at the School of Mines King Center and the Surbeck Center Ballroom. The event will begin at 8 a.m. and culminate with an awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m. in the King Center Gymnasium.
More than 300 area sixth- through 12th-graders compete in the fair. Students will compete in biological sciences, physical sciences, social sciences or team project divisions.
Categories are:
Sixth grade: physical science, biological science, social science and team projects
Seventh grade: physical science, biological science, social science and team projects
Eighth grade: physical science, biological science, social science and team projects
High School: physical science, biological science, social science and team projects
