The ninth "Matters of the Heart: A Health and Wellness Expo" will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, in the Surbeck Center Ballroom at the School of Mines.
SDSU student nurses will provide free health screenings and there will be health and wellness information from 30 community and campus organizations including HIV testing, depression screening, quit smoking tips and workout plans. Safety and environmental issues will also be included this year. New additions this year include a blood drive, Indian Taco sale and a fortune teller booth.
The purpose is to increase awareness and provide information to students on health issues, as well offer them free health screenings.
The Expo usually features 30 to 50 groups that host booths. Between 200 and 350 people usually attend.
