Article Body
The Career Service Council at the School of Mines has given its Traditions of Excellence Award for April 2008 to Vi Stoltz. Stoltz is a senior secretary in the Office of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and has been employed at School of Mines since June 1988.

The Career Service Council gives the award to someone who has performed their assigned duties at a high level or above and beyond expectations, who has taken the initiative to promote the concept of successful job completion and has promoted a positive working relationship with students, faculty and staff.

Stoltz's nomination stated, "Vi recently completed Engineers Week activities. More than 1,200 middle- and high-school students visited campus. Vi coordinates most of the activities for Engineers Week to include the Web site viewed by thousands of people, a pamphlet distributed to hundreds of interested people, the Chemistry Show and the speaker and luncheons, all of this in addition to her regular duties. Engineers Week was a huge success due to her efforts. There is no doubt that Vi Stoltz is an asset to the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology."
