Article Body
The spirit of American entrepreneurism is alive and well, and poised to take Rapid City by storm on Monday, March 3. On that date, The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour (EET) - the first ever collegiate entrepreneur tour - will be visiting the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology campus. The School of Mines is committed to helping both its students and members of the community succeed in the changing economy, and both are invited to take part in the day's events, which will be held from 3-6 p.m. in the Surbeck Center Ballroom.

EET is a nationwide collegiate tour designed to help students pursue their own vision in a world of rapidly evolving technology and globalization. This event is targeted at students from ALL academic disciplines--the aim is to help students think about how to distinguish themselves to get a head start in their careers and lives. Presenters include:

  • Sheena Lindahl and Michael Simmons- co-founders of Extreme Entrepreneurship Education, authors of The Student Success Manifesto and All or Nothing, Now or Never, named by Business Week as one of the country's top 25 entrepreneurs under 25.
  • Eric Corl- helped a start-up company grow from $0 to $6m valuation and in Sept. 2007 started IdeaBuyer.com, an online marketplace for intellectual property.
  • Arel Moodie - started his successful Internet company in college, also works as an international professional motivational speaker, and has spoken to over 10,000 people in eight states and two countries.
  • Panel members will include School of Mines alumni Terry Rock (ME 70) and Butch Skillman (ME 73).

This event is jointly sponsored by the Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing and Production (CAMP), the College of Engineering, Genesis of Innovation for South Dakota, Leadership Development Team, and the School of Mines Career Center.

The event is open to members of the community.  To RSVP or for more information about the day's events, visit http://www.extremetour.org/.
